Stamford, CT— June 6, 2006 - The Georgia Public Service Commission today approved a certificate of authority for MXenergy Inc. (“MXenergy”) to operate as a natural gas marketer in the Atlanta Gas Light Company delivery area.

The certificate includes plans to purchase the accounts of customers currently receiving service from Shell Energy Services, a transaction that will make MXenergy one of the fastest growing retail natural gas providers, serving more than 600,000 customers in 29 utility territories in the United States and Canada.
