MXenergy Granted Connecticut Electric Supplier License
Company to Enter Competitive Energy Market

STAMFORD, Conn., - May 4, 2007 – MxEnergy Electric Inc. (“MXenergy”) announced today that it has been licensed by the Connecticut Department of Public Utility Control to operate as an electric supplier.  Initially, MXenergy will market to both residential and commercial customers in the United Illuminating Co. delivery area, which includes Ansonia, Bridgeport, Derby, East Haven, Easton, Fairfield, Hamden, Milford, New Haven, North Branford, North Haven, Orange, Shelton, Stratford, Trumbull, West Haven and Woodbridge.

MXenergy plans to begin marketing a variety of competitive offerings, both fixed and variable, to residential and commercial customers by the beginning of June.
