STAMFORD, Connecticut, February 27, 2006…MXenergy, a supplier of natural gas and electricity in deregulated markets, presented AmeriCares with a donation of $11,800 designated for hurricane relief in the Gulf Coast region of the United States. 

During the presentation Jeffrey Mayer, CEO of MXenergy praised the work of AmeriCares in disaster relief services.  “AmeriCares has a solid reputation for early and continued response during disasters, which made them the obvious choice for our donation,” Mr. Mayer said.

Following hurricanes Katrina and Rita last fall, MXenergy made a commitment to pledge ten dollars to AmeriCares for each new MXenergy customer enrolled with the company through the end of 2005.  While MXenergy does not currently have a customer base in the Gulf Coast region, the company recognized the devastation from these natural disasters and made the decision to help.  Customers from Maryland, Michigan, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Illinois and Indiana contributed to the program by selecting MXenergy service. 

“There is so much that needs to be done in this region, and we’re glad to be providing a little more assistance,” added Mr. Mayer.
