MXenergy gains Vantage's Texas customers

MXenergy Inc. has entered the Houston market after signing a deal Thursday with Vantage Power Services LP, a Houston electricity provider, that transferred nearly 2,500 Texas power customers to MXenergy.

"MXenergy is very excited to enter the Texas deregulated power market, where we believe we can offer a truly differentiated product to customers," said Jeffrey Mayer, president and chief executive officer of Stamford, Conn.-based MXenergy.

Six of Vantage's seven employees will join the MXenergy team and will relocate to its Houston office following a brief transition period.

The company said the newly formed team will work to grow MXenergy's residential and commercial customer base in the state.
