Customers of gas marketer GasKey are about to become customers of another marketer.
PS Energy Group Inc., which owns GasKey, has sold its Georgia gas business to Connecticut-based MXenergy.
GasKey, which was among the first gas marketers in Georgia, is also among the smallest.
MXenergy is one of the biggest suppliers of natural gas and electricity in the country. It entered the Georgia market in 2006, by buying Shell's gas marketing company.
GasKey customers will see no change in either their contracts or the people servicing their accounts, said Jeffrey Mayer, president and CEO of MXenergy, in a press release. GasKey's personnel will go to MX. And contract terms will remain unchanged for the duration of existing contracts.
"With energy prices lower this year we are looking forward to renewing many of our GasKey customers at even better prices down the road," Mayer said.
